1. Pinterest Expands Buyable Pins To More E-Commerce Platforms, Reaching Thousands Of Merchants

Pintrest joined the ranks of Social Media platforms offering eCommerce features earlier this year, with the “Buyable Pins” option. They have now expanded their this feature to more eCommerce platforms such as Bigcommerce, Magento and IBM Commerce, giving thousands of merchants the opportunity to offer their products to Pintrest Users.

2. Amazon commands almost half of all product searches, and marketers are ignoring omnichannel

Amazon is still dominating the ranks of e-retailers, while web sales have grown to 15% in the United States.A new survey shows 30% of all buyers are using Amazon, some even bypassing web search and head straight to amazon. The survey also shows a lack of emphasis on omnichannel, which is quite surprising since it’s been a Buzz word recently!

3. Paribus Raises $2.1 Million For Its Service That Saves Online Shoppers Money When Prices Drop

Paribus, a Startup that helps you save money when price drop on your past purchases, has raised $2.1 million in seed funding! It helps you save money, by asking a retailer to honor a sale price after the item had been purchased. How awesome is that!

Paribus looks through your purchased items and looks whether they’ve gone on sale, when an item does go on sale it will file the price match claim on your behalf!

4. Pandora Acquires Ticketfly For $450M To Sell Concert Tickets

Ticketfly a ticketing company that makes it easy to discover events, buy tickets, and share events with your friends, has just been acquired by Pandora for $450 million. It’s a bold move by Pandora who wants to enter the ticketing business, claiming that the Ticketfly’s service will allow Pandora listeners to better find live music events. We’ll see whether the investment pays off!

5. Amazon Launches a Maker Marketplace That Will Compete With Etsy

Amazon is in the news again… No surprise though. The the eCommerce giant just opened a new maker marketplace features. This is a big step for Amazon which will put them face to face with Etsy, the homemade product e-retailer. We can already see the effects this move has, as Etsy’s shares went down 5% on Thursday!
